He brings more than 30 years of successful entrepreneurship, management and leadership to the company and will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Boston.

Ross has a proven track record of driving the profitable growth, market leadership and improving the overall performance of software and services companies. Before joining Promisec, Ross was CEO of Illume, the market- leading developer of solutions for mobile safety. He also served as a sector expert, speaking in Washington on behalf of the industry on numerous occasions. In the 10 years before Illume, he led several high tech companies such as Optiant, Manna and Darwin Suzsoft (known as Dextrys), which rapidly grew to become one of the top Chinese offshore IT software services companies in the world.
In the 1990s Ross played a leading role in building OpenMarket into the dominant e-commerce powerhouse with 37 percent global market share and taking it public as the most successful NASDAQ IPO in 1996. Prior to OpenMarket, he was a senior leader at Digital Equipment, responsible for the billion-dollar U.S. workstation and PC business. Ross also led the successful turnaround of Picturetel, doubling profitable revenues to over $600 million in less than two years.
A past board member of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Ross is active in inner city high school entrepreneurial programs and has served as an advisor to the MATCH school in Boston. He has also consulted with graduate students at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has lectured at MIT Sloan School and Babson College on Entrepreneurship.
Ross holds a degree in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and successfully completed the executive program at INSEAD on International business.
