“The value of Perceptive Software’s products and solutions is that they integrate easily with our existing systems, such as PeopleSoft. That was a core requirement for us in our decision-making process."

Perceptive Software, creator of process and content management products and solutions, including intelligent data capture, announced today that the University of Kansas plans to expand its use of Perceptive Software solutions from a few individual units to a university-wide contract.

Under the initial expansion, seven business units will focus on improving the efficiency of multiple business processes. In phase one of the expansion alone, university business units will receive updates to eight core processes, such as in the Comptroller’s Office where Brainware Distiller will be implemented to streamline invoice processing.

“The value of Perceptive Software’s products and solutions is that they integrate easily with our existing systems, such as PeopleSoft. That was a core requirement for us in our decision-making process," said KU CIO Bob Lim. “Because Perceptive Software has provided solutions for a number of comparable universities, we are able to gain valuable insight into best practices for electronic document management and workflow in higher education.”

Since early 2011, the University of Kansas has been involved in an ongoing efficiency initiative called Changing for Excellence. KU contracted with Huron Consulting to identify potential areas of improvement in operations and systems and eliminate inefficient systems and processes. Huron’s opportunities assessment identified a number of areas in which the university could capture financial and efficiency savings in administrative processes, and that led KU to partner with Perceptive Software.

“We will capitalize on the efficiencies created by partnering with Perceptive Software. The solutions they provide will save student and staff time, which ultimately saves money for the university,” Lim said.
