Uptime Devices, a leading innovator in environmental monitoring, power control, and data center security devices, is pleased to announce the release of the DSView™ plug-in for their Remote Physical Monitor CM .

Uptime Devices has consistently offered the most flexible environmental monitoring products on the market. By offering expandable hardware and web-enabled platforms, they have made it easy for customers ranging from small businesses to corporations. The DSView™ plug-in is another step towards giving Uptime Devices' customers the flexibility they need. The plug-in allows users of Avocent® DSView™ management software to seamlessly integrate with Uptime Devices' infrastructure monitoring unit, Remote Physical Monitor CM.

Remote Physical Monitor CM (RPM CM) is an environmental, power, and security monitoring console. RPM CM was designed to use less energy and generate less heat than other environmental monitoring products on the market. It utilizes Daisy Chain Sensor® technology, which enables the connection of up to 250 Remote Intelligent Multi Sensors® (RIMS) to one Remote Physical Monitor CM, roughly equivalent to 2,000 sensors.

The Daisy Chain Sensor® technology employed by Remote Physical Monitor CM has other advantages as well. Created with the growing data center in mind, the expandable nature of the product takes up less space. Increasing numbers of data centers are pushing their capacity limits, making this a crucial benefit in using Uptime Devices environmental monitoring products.

Remote Physical Monitor CM requires no software, and functions in any web-based environment. RPM CM provides a complete picture of a set environment, and features preemptive notifications and alarm functionalities. The information collected by RPM CM allows a user to take action before assets are in danger of being lost. Other benefits include extending the life of the component and optimizing cooling efficiency that brings down energy costs. Among the monitoring capabilities of the platform are: temperature, humidity, airflow, water and smoke detection, power, and the ability to control PDUs remotely.

Uptime Devices is pleased to partner with Avocent® to simplify the complex data center manageability issues.
