The Doe Run Company welcomes six employees to its Southeast Missouri operations, including the Southeast Missouri Mining and Milling Division (SEMO) exploration team, and the Buick Resource Recycling Division (BRRD) in Boss, Mo.
Ryan Dale, of Manassas, Va., joins the SEMO exploration team as a geologist. Dale holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss. He previously worked at THEMAC Resources Group in Hillsboro, N.M. and Alaska Earth Sciences.
Alex Pappas, Richland, Wash., also hired as a geologist, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in geology from Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. Before Doe Run, Pappas worked for GRAM, Inc. and Alaska Earth Sciences. In addition, he authored and co-authored several environmental assessment, regulatory compliance, and scientific reports for commercial and government use.
Craig Gripp, of Girard, Ill., also joins the exploration team as a geologist. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill. Gripp previously worked for CETCO of Hoffman Estates, Ill.
Trish Huff, of Boss, Mo., joins the exploration team as a geological data technician. Huff had been working for Doe Run as a temporary employee on the company’s Enterprise Content Management project since September 2011.
“We’re very pleased to add these exceptional geologists and technician to our exploration team. They will focus on expanding company exploration efforts in Missouri and other locations in North America,” said Ross Conner, Doe Run’s vice president of exploration. “These new positions reflect Doe Run’s commitment to continued sustainable mining operations that provide minerals and metals to meet the growing global demand.”
Exploration is a key part of Doe Run’s strategy for sustainable business operations as emerging economies and hybrid vehicles will drive the market for lead in the future.
BRRD’s new hires also support Doe Run’s sustainable business practices, and its ongoing commitment to employee safety.
John Canterberry, of Farmington, Mo., assists in the daily accounting and financial reporting for BRRD as a cost accountant. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. Previously, Canterberry served as chief accountant for the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center in Farmington.
Brande Russell, of Lesterville, Mo., joins BRRD as a medical technician to support monthly employee health screenings. Russell received an EMT-Basic license from the U.S. Air Force, and an EMT-Paramedic license from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo. She is licensed as a paramedic for Iron County, and serves in the Air Force Reserve.
