Ties-necktie.com, a prominent online retailer of men’s ties, pocket squares and other dapper accessories just launched a fun flash game titled “The Dapper Dude & His Fight Against Casual America.” Each week's most dapper dude, the highest scoring player that is, will receive a $100 store credit.
“We really wanted to do something fun with this,” says Ties-Necktie.com co-founder Hendrik Pohl. “We’ve got some fantastic customers, and there’s no better way to reward them for the purchases that they’ve made than to give away some gift certificates. We want the people who shop with us to know just how much we appreciate their business.”
Pohl says that the idea for this flash game is based upon the notion that American men are leaning more towards casual dress than ever in the past, leaving formal attire by the wayside. While the game certainly pokes fun at this concept in a jovial manner, the site’s founder believes the underlying message is important.
“Look around the globe these days, and you’ll find that American men are quickly falling behind the Europeans and Japanese when it comes to formal attire and elegant dress,” says Pohl. “There’s a time and place for casual dress, but the sad fact of the matter is that the American man is quickly losing his sense of fashion and style in lieu of a more laissez-faire approach to the way he dresses. The Dapper Dude is a fun way of bringing this subject to light, and hopefully will turn a few people onto the fact that taking one’s sense of style to the next level doesn’t have to be difficult.
To celebrate the release of the game, Ties-Necktie will be giving out $100 store credit to the top 5 winners throughout the first week, with one winner per week to follow.
“We look at this way; there’s no reason to release a game like this if you aren’t going to start things off right. The fact that we’re offering 5x $100 prizes in the first week of the game’s inception is just another way of saying thanks to our customers, and we’re happy to do it. Since the game is not only a fun concept but also incredibly fun to play, we’re excited to see what happens in the coming months.”
