The new book “Scribe's Treasure” (published by AuthorHouse) by the late Rev. Marion H Gwynn presents a riveting look at biblical Scripture and the relationship between science and theology.

Marion’s personal story paints the backdrop to this fascinating work. His son, and the book’s editor, Holmes M. Gwynn explains: “Rev. Gwynn was a successful chemical engineer when, in his mid-forties, he decided to pursue a religious vocation and was inspired to write this book, which he continued to add to until his passing 40+ years later at age 87.”

Through his work as a chemist and as an Episcopal minister, Marion grew to believe that the current gap between science and religion can be bridged largely by revelation. He explores this gap, and how to mend it, in “Scribe's Treasure”.

“There are four basic sections,” explains Holmes. “The first is a refreshing new look at the Bible – both Old and New Testament. The second section concentrates on the book of Revelation. The third pulls in Rev. Gwynn’s background in science to relate science and theology. The fourth section is a bit more abstract, including a review of the teachings of Dr. Holmes Merton, a much respected teacher.

“While the book treats the Bible as a sacred document, Rev. Gwynn offers new insights and opinions of what is contained in the Bible. Since his passing, science, particularly theoretical physics, has made significant strides toward reaching up to the mind of God. This book offers a starting point for future scientific discoveries while acknowledging the impossibility of reaching the mind of God in our present life form.”

Chockfull of insight gleaned from Marion’s almost five decades of study and experience, “Scribe's Treasure” is an impressive biblical and scholarly reference.
