Somehow, I was made aware of something much greater than my tiny idea of myself. Something had heard my call for help and lifted my burden of guilt.

A Course In Miracles International Event Coordinator, James Gavigan, today confirmed that United States Marine Corps Combat Veteran (Vietnam) Gary Young, will be one of the featured speakers in the “Cosmic Reconciliation” segment of the 10-day celebration of International Forgiveness Week and Weekend of Perfect Peace scheduled to take place on September 14 – 23, 2012, at the Miracles Healing Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
Young will be speaking at an open meeting for veterans, servicemen, and their families, “from all wars, in all time and in all the world.” And says that the event “will be extremely valuable for anyone who knows the aftershock of combat related experience, or of just being in their own private war.” “Please come and experience healing and forgiveness,” Young added.
Gary Young spoke of his intention to share some of his own personally devastating experiences and the solutions that led to his recovery, saying, “In Vietnam I asked, ‘Is there a God? If there is a God then I am knocking on your door. Do you hear me?’ Somehow, I was made aware of something much greater than my tiny idea of myself. Something had heard my call for help and lifted my burden of guilt.”
“The Revelation of Truth I experienced in Vietnam, I rediscovered many years late in A Course In Miracles and came to know the freedom and peace of true forgiveness, and was forever raised from the battleground, given a whole new perspective.
“Jesus says in A Course In Miracles,” continued Young, 'The major difficulty that you find in genuine forgiveness on your part is that you still believe you must forgive the truth, and not illusions. You conceive of pardon as a vain attempt to look past what is there; to overlook the truth, in an unfounded effort to deceive yourself by making an illusion true. This twisted viewpoint but reflects the hold that the idea of sin retains as yet upon your mind, as you regard yourself.
“'This twisted view of what forgiveness means is easily corrected, when you can accept the fact that pardon is not asked for what is true. It must be limited to what is false. It is irrelevant to everything except illusions. Truth is God's creation, and to pardon that is meaningless. All truth belongs to Him, reflects His laws and radiates His Love. Does this need pardon? How can you forgive the sinless and eternally benign?'”
Young added, “It matters not what wartime or combat situation you have been through. You are no different from any other human being, except that you’ve had the experience of looking the anger and futility of senseless slaughter in the eye, and recognized that you are responsible for what you do. It is only when you become willing to accept this responsibility that you can release your anger and guilt, and let the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) take it from you, and then use you as an open conduit of light and truth to all the world, including those sitting right beside you. In the experience of true forgiveness there is no judgment at all!”
International Forgiveness Week and the Weekend of Perfect Peace will be observed worldwide on September 14 – 23, 2012.
For the ten days, A Course In Miracles International will hold special celebration events at the Miracles Healing Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI and in affiliate centers around the world. The “Cosmic Reconciliation” segment of the Program is scheduled for September 21, the United Nations International day of Peace.
