The program captures the most recent, evidence-based nutritional information available to help personal trainers and fitness professionals implement strategies for both weight management and performance enhancement. The multimedia-driven program engages learners through a host of interactive study applications and culminates in the NCSF Board for Certification examination.
The Sport Nutrition Specialist Program delivers comprehensive education and training, leading to enhanced competency within the boundaries of the personal trainer profession. The primary text Sport Nutrition, accompanying interactive study materials, and in-depth video instruction provide detailed information on topics including:
- Evaluating consumption strategies
- Metabolic enhancements

- Dietary supplements
- Troubleshooting dietary outcomes
Consistent with the high standards of the NCSF, the program provides a cutting edge education and training opportunity for NCCA-accredited personal trainers and individuals with appropriate academic credentials. Individuals who hold a current NCCA-accredited credential in good standing, or have either a four-year degree in exercise science or related field or international REPs level three registration may participate in the program. The NCSF Sport Nutrition Specialist program is the ideal complement to a strong supporting professional credential, providing advanced knowledge in a key content domain for practicing health and fitness professionals. NCSF Executive Director Dr. Brian Biagioli said, “We are excited about the opportunity to further enhance the competency of practicing professionals with a legitimate credentialing process. Programs like this help raise the bar in the field of personal training and further demonstrate the organization’s commitment to its stakeholders and the general public.”
