The 2nd Annual Georgia Kickball Open (GKO) will feature the top Circuit teams from the Southeast going head-to-head in Atlanta Silverbacks Park for Circuit Cup points, a shot at the GKO title and a number of cash prizes.

The Circuit, the only national, professional tour of top-flight, competitive kickball tournaments, will host its seventh tournament of the year on June 16 in Atlanta, Georgia. The 2nd Annual Georgia Kickball Open (GKO) will feature the top Circuit teams from the Southeast going head-to-head in Atlanta Silverbacks Park for Circuit Cup points, a shot at the GKO title and a number of cash prizes.

“There’s something about Atlanta and the GKO that brings out some of the best competition on The Circuit,” said Matthew Kemph, Founder/CEO of Kickball365. “Last year we saw Panik Attack take home the championship over The Meatballs in a great finals. With Panik makings its first appearance on the National Tour this year, it looks like we may be crowning a new GKO champion. I know there are some hungry teams out there looking for their first Circuit tournament championship! We’ll see the powerhouse teams from Georgia and Florida there, and we’re hoping to see some teams from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee as well. Brickford Faucette, Adam Kemph, and their game day management crew have secured a great location for the games and organized another top notch tournament.”

First held in 2011, the Georgia Kickball Open is a Kickball365 Circuit Event that will draw more than 15 teams and 250 players from across the Southeast. The GKO is the seventh stop of The Circuit 2012. After the GKO, Circuit teams will go on to compete over the coming months to earn official Circuit Cup points at events across the country. Those points earned will be used to determine the seeding for the true ultimate championship at the conclusion of the year, the Circuit Cup Championship presented by Complete Discovery Source (http://www.cdslegal.com). The Champion of the Circuit Cup will win $10,000 and the top sixteen (16) teams will also receive cash prizes. The full 2012 schedule can be found at http://www.ThisIsKickball.com.

“The fields are right in the heart of Atlanta, making it easy for teams to play seven or eight games of kickball then get changed for a night out on the town,” continued Kemph. “While the competition on the field is great, the camaraderie between teams off the field is really what makes The Circuit unique. These weekends are more than just tournaments - they’re a great kickball vacation experience.”

Teams not participating in the tournament are encouraged to visit Atlanta Silverbacks Park on June 16 to learn more about the new Circuit Leagues launching in Atlanta. There are two league types for players to choose from: Circuit (competitive) and Social. The Circuit League offerings attract top-flight, competitive kickball players, with a fast, wide-open style of game play. The Social League is where players can play the game they love and party with fun, new people throughout the season and beyond.
