We must deal proactively with our vital but overstressed water resources, both in the US and in other countries. We going to see national and international strife in the 21st century increasingly based on access to water.
Tucson, Ariz. (PRWEB) May 18, 2012
Yudelson Associates’ founder and president, noted green building expert and sustainability consultant Jerry Yudelson will provide the lunch keynote address for the BlueTech Forum, a leading water conservation, efficiency and new supply conference, to be held at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront on May 30th.
Conference founder Paul O’Callaghan, CEO of O2 Environmental, said, “We chose Jerry Yudelson to keynote this year’s conference because of his leading role in promoting sustainable technologies and design approaches to prevent future urban water crises. We believe that investors need to focus much more attention on the water industry, as it’s on the cusp of a major technological revolution.”
Yudelson is the author of the seminal book presenting urban design options for increasing water abundance, Dry Run: Preventing the Next Urban Water Crisis. While he advocates for technological solutions, Yudelson also says, “We must change our approach to treating water as a free good and instead recognize it’s a vital resource for our entire economy.”
A professional engineer and experienced sustainability and green building consultant, Yudelson trained at Caltech and Harvard in civil/environmental engineering and water resources management. He believes that water will be the focus for much conflict in the next few decades and that water technology advances can provide solutions to global issues of access to clean water while preventing “water wars.”
Yudelson remarked, “As Mark Twain once said, ‘whiskey’s for drinking and water’s for fighting.’ We must deal proactively with our vital but overstressed water resources, both in the US and in other countries. We going to see national and international strife in the 21st century increasingly based on access to water.” Yudelson’s presentation at the BlueTech Forum will deal specifically with investment opportunities in extending urban water supplies through green building design.
