Originally produced as a series of e-columns for a veterans’ group on the Internet, the essays in “The Centurion Chronicle: (in a world turning upside down)” (published by Trafford Publishing), by W.R. Taylor, chronicles contemporary American history.
A Korean War and Cold War veteran, Taylor chronicles where America has been and where it may be headed. Touching on a variety of subtopics, including politics, economics, social issues and pop culture, the book presents rousing and thought-provoking critiques that are both entertaining and provocative.
“It leaves no sacred cows unmolested and very few taboo subjects unroped,” quips Taylor, who was spurred by his fans to release a collection of his work.
When asked about his fan’s inspiration, Taylor responded in his signature wit. “Not so much inspired as nagged,” he states with a smile.
Like Taylor’s sense of humor, “The Centurion Chronicle” shines with a tongue-in-cheek and slyly satirical quality. Written in an easy-to-read, conversational style, the book, available in paperback and as an e-book, provides food for thought for the adventurous reader.
