“Philadelphians love their restaurants and we’ve taken great care to make this one special on many different levels – from the inviting décor to the accessible menu to the wonderful wine and drink selections.”
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) May 18, 2012
The Latham Hotel in downtown Philadelphia is proud to announce that the long-awaited Urban Enoteca, located at 17th and Walnut streets, is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Debuting on the heels of a major renovation of the entire property, this new eatery is the perfect mix of urban vintage charm and contemporary modern flare. Located in the heart of Philadelphia’s shopping district, the hip, new eatery will specialize in authentic Italian fare, as well as wine and handcrafted cocktails.
“We are extremely pleased to introduce Urban Enoteca to the neighborhood and we believe that it will be a perfect spot to gather with friends and enjoy a delicious plate of food or a unique cocktail,” said Greg Forzley, the General Manager of the restaurant. “Philadelphians love their restaurants and we’ve taken great care to make this one special on many different levels – from the inviting décor to the accessible menu to the wonderful wine and drink selections.”
The new restaurant and lounge will feature both small plates and regular entrees. Some enticing menu items include an East Coast Halibut with Tagliolini and Little Neck Clams and a Braised Short Rib Ragu over Papardelle. Small plates served include Prosciutto Crusted White Prawns, Handcrafted Gnocchi and Braised Beef Arancini. The restaurant will also feature mouthwatering antipasto plates, as well as Salumi and Formaggi boards.
The bar and lounge will specialize in serving many different kinds of wines both by the bottle and by the glass. The user-friendly wine by the glass menu features an array of different wines from all over the world broken into accessible categories such as these for Going Blanc (Whites): Lively & Fresh, Big & Rich or Luscious & Sexy or these for Beyond the Pale (Reds): Fun & Fruity, Smooth & Sexy or Full & Intense. This fun, easy format makes picking a wine a pleasurable experience with the guess work gone!
Another stand-out at Urban Enoteca is the signature hand-crafted cocktails menu, which represents today’s culinary approach to the art of mixology. These proprietary cocktails are made with only the finest ingredients such as fresh herbs, hand- squeezed juices and muddled fruits, as well as top shelf liquors, and are hand-shaken to icy perfection. Signature cocktails on the menu include a 17th and Walnut (10 Cane Rum, fresh Persian lime juice, yellow passion fruit juice, blossom honey, Mionetto Prosecco Float, Angostura bitters and a fresh mint sprig) and The Latham Cocktail (Sauza Hornitos Reposado Tequila, Luxardo Amaretto, fresh California lemon juice, 100% organic agave nectar, thyme sprig and orange twist).
The new eatery will reflect a cozy atmosphere, intimately casual, yet elegant with beautiful architectural treatments and a warm interior décor of fabric and leather, reclaimed wood floors and the sounds of house mixed music. It is the perfect gathering spot for friends, old and new. The establishment seats 48 people and will be open continuously for three meals a day, with breakfast starting at 6:30am daily. No reservations required.
