2nd Annual 2012 WOD Gear Team Series Announces Its Call for Crossfit Competitors

The event will identify the best-of-breed athletes in the CrossFit community. First place team will receive a $5,000 cash prize.

We chose the Rose Bowl as our venue to give the Crossfit community the opportunity to compete in an arena where champions are made. Very few can say that they have competed in the Rose Bowl!

WOD (Work out of the day) Gear Clothing company today announced its call for (https://mywodtime.com/wgts) entrants for the 2012, 2nd annual, Team Series competition taking place on July 28th on the field at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena. Over 3,000 spectators are expected to fill the stands of the Rose Bowl to watch 72 teams of crossfitters compete in a one-of-a-kind crossfitting event that will raise funds for Barbells for Boobs and Soldiers' Angels.

“We are very excited about our 2nd annual Team WOD Gear Series competition,” Gabriel Pelino, owner and co-creator of WOD Gear Clothing and WOD Gear Team Series, said. “We chose the Rose Bowl as our venue to give the Crossfit community the opportunity to compete in an arena where champions are made. Very few can say that they have competed in the Rose Bowl!”

The competition consists of 4 WODs. Athletes will compete in a Crossfit event that will include challenging workouts as well as some elements of surprise. Gold, silver, and bronze winners will be named. Cash prizes will be awarded in the amounts of $5,000 to the first placed team, $2,500 to the second placed team, and $1,250 to the third placed team. Winning teams will be profiled at http://www.WODGear.net and included in post event media outreach.

Sponsored by ASICS, Functional Equipment, and Vita CoCo, the Wod Gear Team Series is comprised of 72 teams of four consisting of 2 men and 2 women. Registration will open May 21st (https://mywodtime.com/wgts) and will close when the 72nd team registers and qualifies. The cost of registration is $400. Admission to view the competition is free.

ASICS will donate shoes and performance T-shirts to the first 30 teams who register. Vita CoCo will be providing products to competitors and spectators. Functional Equipment is providing all field and sports equipment.

Now in it’s second year, the WOD Gear Team Series competition was designed to bring the CrossFit community, of all levels, together to share in an amazing experience of competition and camaraderie. Both competitors and spectators will be treated to one of the most amazing, high caliber Crossfit competitions held to date, from start to finish. The WOD Gear team is committed to making the event an unforgettable experience for all.
