The 11-7 home defeat to West Chester (PA) ended an amazing 15 game winning streak that stretched all the way back to February when the Saints narrowly lost to Rollins who ended up as the number 1 seed for the NCAA tournament.

Scott Tucker's Saints were making their fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament. Ironically the Saints defeated West Chester in the final four last season but West Chester's victory means the Saints are still searching for their first NCAA championship title. In a closely contested first half there wasn't much separating the teams until the Golden Rams surged ahead 5-1 with a late run. The saints got themselves back into the game to make it 7-4 at the half time break.

As the second half progressed a theme developed where the Saints failed to capitalize on their opportunities whereas the Golden Rams made the most of every opportunity that came their way. The Golden Rams increased their lead by taking advantage of 13 out of 21 ground balls. Rachel Prager, the Saints' top scorer this season endured a frustrating afternoon where she encountered some resolute defending from the West Chester defenders. Prager did manage to add one goal to her tally for the season but it wasn't enough to pull the Saint's back into the game.
