With home sales taking place across all its neighborhoods, Neal Communities sold 54 new homes in April, pushing its year-to-date total to 202. Sales contracts soared to 62 in March at a time when nationwide sales were slipping. Neal’s March total nearly doubled its 32 January sales.
Central Park at Lakewood Ranch, where prices range from the $130s to more than $240,000, continued to show its popularity among buyers and led the way with 19 sales. Still, all Neal’s communities from Forest Creek and River’s Reach in north Manatee County to Sawgrass in south Sarasota County benefited from new sales. Since family-friendly Central Park opened in July 2010, homebuyers have snapped up 250 Neal homes there.
“We’re seeing a continued decline in finished vacant housing units, especially in the Sarasota market where it has reached equilibrium with only two months of supply,” says Pat Neal, president of Neal Communities. “As pleased as we are with the year-to-date, the drop in supply bodes well as an indicator for future homebuilding activity in the region, and our team is prepared to meet the demand.”
