Celebrating its 44th year in 2012, the Wellesley Veterans Parade headlines the Sunday event schedule of "Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend," which runs from May 18th to the 20th this year. At 1 PM, the parade is set to cruise down Washington Street, greeting the façade of Haskins Automotive as it has done for the past two score and four years of the auto repair shop's history. Haskins Automotive is renewing its pledge to support the historic parade and the entire weekend's events, culminating in the opening of the new Wellesley High School as the centerpiece of this year's festivities.

"We're very happy to support the Veterans Parade in Wellesley," chimes Bob Haskins, who represents the third generation of his family-run business. Some 83 years ago, Leslie T. Haskins started Haskins Automotive with an emphasis on business integrity as the company's core asset. A few decades into the shop's service to Massachusetts, Wellesley hosted its first Veterans Parade down Washington Street to honor veterans and volunteers who served the town. Already a staple of the community, Haskins Automotive began regularly supporting the event.

This year's festivities will all center around the "Turn On the Lights" celebration to christen the opening of the new Wellesley High School. Friday evening at 7 PM, the WHS Performing Arts Department will host a masterworks concert in the school's auditorium. On Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM, tour guides will highlight the "green" features of the new school before its formal dedication at 4 PM. The evening will feature a movie screening in the new WHS gym at 6:30 PM.

On Sunday, the Wellesley Celebrations' Committee will inaugurate the 44th annual Wellesley Veterans Parade down Washington Street, with what they promise to be "the biggest ever" fireworks display at dusk.
