“As the industry moves toward an IP-based environment, This Technology is helping customers overcome new challenges and scale multiscreen offerings with business models that drive revenue," said Jeff Sherwin, CEO, This Technology.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 21, 2012
This Technology, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for dynamic ad insertion (DAI), today announced product enhancements that support blackout scheduling and implementation, and DAI in multiscreen environments. The latest feature introductions come as MSOs and programmers seek to scale VOD, nDVR, IPTV and TV Everywhere offerings, but face challenges related to management of inventory business rules across multiple platforms, and meeting local event blackout requirements.
This Technology’s Blackout Decision Server supports IP blackout entitlements with a solution for blackout scheduling and implementation. An enhancement of This Technology’s SpotLink platform and MetaMore product for asset metadata authoring, the new service enables creation of blackout authoring rules and designation of alternate content for insertion when blackouts must be implemented. It serves as a single system to support all blackout requirements across both programmer and MSO content delivery systems.
“From the beginning, This Technology has focused on making DAI easier, more efficient and flexible for MSOs and programmers,” said Jeffrey Sherwin, CEO, This Technology. “As the industry moves toward an IP-based environment, This Technology is helping customers overcome new challenges and scale multiscreen offerings with business models that drive revenue.”
Announced last year, This Technology’s SpotLink Router has successfully enabled operators to create an abstraction layer between the various components of an SCTE-130 ad decision system. With the latest enhancements being announced today, SpotLink Router can now help programmers ensure consistent implementation of ad inventory sharing business rules across their own TV Everywhere video distribution paths, as well as MSO-managed video applications, including VOD and IPTV. Programmers can also use the abstraction layer provided to connect their broadband ad servers to necessary video platforms and distribution partners without the complexity typically involved in forging these multiple integrations.
“This Technology can support MSOs and programmers that want to share ad inventory across multiscreen environments with one system that can consistently manage all agreements in place based on any predefined criteria,” said Sherwin. “For blackouts in multiscreen environments, This Technology uses the same single system approach to remove the complexities of managing various rules and requirements across various IP-based services, such as TV Everywhere and MSO IPTV applications.”
