During this 3 hour online educational seminar, clinicians will learn how to make a swift and accurate swallow assessment using only their hands. "Dysphagia clinicians have some basic tools to draw from when making clinical decisions" says Ann. "But perhaps the most neglected ones are right at their fingertips." In this course, Ann will cover what the literature has to say about structures and motions that can be perceived bedside, the most effective hand placement, pressure, inferring swallow status, tracking changes, goals that arise naturally from this assessment, and a couple of ways to influence swallow performance.

About the speaker:
Ann Kulichik, MS, CCC-SLP, BRS-S has been a Speech Language Pathologist since 1996, and is a Board Recognized Swallowing Specialist. She has provided hands on swallowing treatment in long term care for the length of her career, and has experience performing modified barium swallow studies. She has developed several specialized dysphagia treatment programs, including working with the COPD swallow, manual manipulation of facial asymmetry and myofascial release for dysphagia. She stays current in the latest research to provide and teach the best and most effective care possible.
