After two years of review; PCS Mobile was chosen by the Houston Police Department to manage their mobile data upgrade for rugged computers and devices from Getac and Havis, while coordinating the installation process for their fleet of vehicles.

PCS Mobile announced today that they have been awarded the Houston Police Department contract to outfit 1,800 police vehicles with Getac B300 rugged computers and Havis consoles. PCS Mobile will work closely with partners Getac, Havis, M&T Consulting and ADSI to provide a comprehensive, long-term solution to the department. The contract was awarded to PCS Mobile based on their almost 20 years of experience providing mobile data solutions, technical support, installation services and project management to state and local public safety organizations.

The Houston PD, located in the fourth largest city in the United States, was seeking a partner that would work with them to install, manage and support an in-vehicle mobile data solution, including rugged computers from Getac and Havis consoles. The contract’s goal is to increase officer efficiency and capabilities in the field while standardizing and upgrading existing mobile devices with current technology. PCS Mobile will have dedicated personnel based in their Houston office to install and support the rugged computers and mobile data systems. Delivery is anticipated to begin in late May with installation beginning in June.

“We are looking forward to a long and successful relationship with the Houston Police Department as we work together on this very exciting project,” said Kathy Pakkebier, PCS Mobile President. “I’m very proud of my staff and our partners who are involved with this project to ensure that all Houston police officers have state-of-the-art technology to protect and serve their community.”
