The site is designed with the individual in mind and offers information about every aspect of Texas Health Insurance, Medicare, Medigap Insurance, Medicare Part D and Long-Term Care Insurance.

CDIS of Texas, Inc. is the sister company of Senior Services of Illinois, Inc. which has been providing insurance solutions for its 15,000 active clients on behalf of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois since 1997. has arrived at a time when many other sites bombard individuals with pages of confusing content. offers more clear information via an easy to navigate Web site with weekly blog updates and easy-to-read articles in its extensive library.

Tech-savvy visitors are able to run a quote, see plan options and enroll in a plan of their choice all from the comfort of their home. While the site’s quote engine is user-friendly, visitors also have the option of chatting or speaking directly with a live Education Specialist who is trained to assist them in navigating the site, answering their individual insurance questions and enrolling them in a plan that meets their needs.

“We live in an era of instant information, from the Internet to 24-hour news programs,” said Loochtan. “The influx of content is overwhelming and with, we want to cut through the noise by providing a site that provides people with all the healthcare and insurance information that they will need to make decisions with confidence.”

According to a report released by the Pew Research Center, online activities by Baby Boomers and other generations are rapidly catching Generation Y. Baby Boomers, which are divided into two groups Younger (45-54) and Older (55-63), are using the Internet for many of the same reasons – email, researching products, getting news, using search engines, buying products online and getting health information.

The report states that although younger Boomers are more likely to watch videos online (49 percent) than older Boomers (30 percent), the reverse is true about seeking health information – older Boomers (81 percent) compared to younger Boomers (74 percent). Collectively, 75 percent of Baby Boomers (45-63) and the Silent Generation (64-72) are using the Internet to get health information.

“The Internet is an astonishing tool for educating consumers, which allows them to research everything from healthcare to the latest technology – the difference is that healthcare is a necessity for most Americans,” stated Loochtan.

Interesting facts regarding the U.S. population explosion and generations online:

  •     U.S. senior citizen population appears to be headed to a 40 percent increase in the next five years (1)
  •     U.S. population 65 and older will more than double by 2050, rising from 39 million today to 89 million (2)
  •     82 percent of home Internet users with broadband at home ages 45-75 (3)
  •     Ages 70-75 are the fastest growing Internet users – 26 percent online in 2005, 45 percent online in 2009 (4)
  •     Internet users aged 55 and over (31.75 percent) have surpassed 18 to 34 year old users (30.48 percent) (5)
  •     80 percent of Texans are online, 69 percent of Texans are online in the home (6)
