DotNetNuke module developer, PackFlash, has just released an new version of their DNN Gallery Module, which is a solution for providing a organized image galleries within sites built on top of the DotNetNuke platform. This new version of the Gallery module has the capability to tie 2 or more websites together and share the image galleries between those sites.
When galleries are shared, they are represented as if they belong to the current site. The user is not forced to switch sites as they would be if the content sharing was accomplished via RSS feeds. This is a much better experience for the user. Appropriate controls are provided so that content administrators can select determine criteria for what galleries are shared or kept unique to a particular site. One application of this feature is for a business that micro-sites for each category and another that includes all of the categories. PackFlash’s DNN Gallery module makes this type of implementation possible.
While the PackFlash DNN Gallery module can be purchased on its own, it also exists as part of the Constellation suite of modules. Constellation is a combination of eight DotNetNuke modules that are bundled together, and which are integrated in a way that is unique in the world of DNN. The suite includes News & Blogs, Image Gallery, Slideshow, Friendly URLs, Mega Drop-Down Menu, Comments, Videos and Events Module for DotNetNuke. The Gallery module’s purpose within the suite is to handle the particular needs of displaying image galleries and images in multiple formats.
"The Gallery Module, one of PackFlash’s newest products, is a natural extension of our product suite. PackFlash is just getting started with the integration of the modules to each of the DNN Modules in its Constellation Suite as well as the core functionality of DotNetNuke.” says the CEO of PackFlash, Chris Risner.
Version 3.2 of the PackFlash Constellation Modules also offers an important upgrade to the Friendly URL Module for DNN to support multi-site portal data sharing. The SEO Module does this by automatically detecting duplicate content, even across shared websites, and managed through the use of canonical meta tags. Owners of web sites don’t have to worry about getting penalized by search engines because of they are sharing content across their sites.
