Springfield, VA – May 21 –IceWarp has announced today a hassle-free migration package from Kerio Connect to its award-winning IceWarp Messaging Server. The global messaging and collaborations solutions provider reacted to a growing exodus of Kerio customers, who started to flow to IceWarp after May 1st, 2012, when Kerio removed all free support options beyond installation period.

“After we had several Kerio customers flocking to us in a matter of just two days, we decided to do something to make their transition as painless as possible,” says Ladislav Goc, IceWarp President. “We immediately allocated additional resources and our team rapidly developed a tool that makes the transfer fast and easy.”

IceWarp is constantly making efforts to improve its support infrastructure.

“We firmly believe in free support and have invested considerable resources to make it as effective as possible,” continues Mr. Goc. “Just an example: we have developed our own chat system to serve customers, because we were not satisfied with the available solutions. Also, we are adding multilingual support specialists in various locations.”

The new package was built on the experience IceWarp gained after deploying its Zero Downtime Migration option from Microsoft Exchange to its IceWarp Messaging Server at the end of 2011. Numerous organizations made the most of this process and got superior messaging capabilities with a higher degree of stability, lower ownership costs and no workflow disruptions throughout the transition process.

Benefits of the Kerio-IceWarp Migration Package include:

  •     Zero Downtime – Using the IceWarp Kerio Migration Package companies can migrate from their Kerio environment with zero downtime. During the migration process, users can remain online and perform all normal activities. The Kerio migration tool runs alongside IceWarp’s e-mail migration tool. They run in concert to ensure all Kerio users, email, contacts, and calendars are migrated completely.
  •     Contacts and Calendars Synchronized. The Package will allow companies to easily move their Contacts and Calendars from their existing Kerio server to IceWarp.
  •     User Clean-Up. Other migration tools require all users to be migrated, even though an organization may no longer need to retain their records. The Kerio-IceWarp Migration Package allows companies to choose the users they wish to migrate offering an administrator the option to leave unused accounts out.
  •     Cross-Platform Migrations. IceWarp is a multi-platform product and therefore companies can move from Kerio to IceWarp on both Linux and Windows.

The migration time varies depending on the amount of users and data size. In a recent case, a Kerio migrations was executed for a 150 user company with a total of 200GB of email and other data. The migration took 2.5 hours to fully complete, migrating all email, contacts, calendars, and users to the IceWarp platform with zero downtime. Also, the customer appreciated a richer, more user-friendly Web client and an array of additional features.

“All our competitors have different strategies, and we wish them success in their endeavors,” notes Mr. Goc. “We all belong to one enterprise messaging community that is going through its new growth stage. What works for some vendors, might not be a good idea for others. But we are firmly convinced that customers should not suffer. They should have the flexibility to choose a provider who is the best fit for their business needs, with minimal disruptions.”

Already recognized as a leading email solutions provider and a viable Microsoft Exchange alternative, IceWarp (formerly Merak Mail Server) is deployed in more than 20,000 organizations and supports over 50 million users worldwide.
