Greater Fort Worth Builders Association launches free event mobile app and uses digital technology to promote 21st annual event open May 18 – June 3, 2012.

"There are a lot of home builders still thriving, and our local industry is still one of the best housing markets in the country. With interest rates at an all-time low, there has never been a better time to buy a new home or remodel your current home.

In a bold statement of industry strength, the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association launched its 21st Annual Greater Fort Worth Spring Tour of New Homes™, a multi-weekend, site-seeing open house showcasing properties priced from the $130s to $1 million. Branded as a Texas-size open house the event features over 50 new homes, builders, remodelers and communities throughout seven counties. The tour is free to the public, and homes on the tour are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am – 7 pm.

“We are thrilled with the caliber of homes and communities that are in this year’s tour,” states Jon A. Samson, executive vice president of the builders association. “One of the biggest benefits of this event is that consumers will see that there are a lot of home builders still thriving, and our local industry is still one of the best housing markets in the country. With interest rates at an all-time low, there has never been a better time to buy a new home or remodel your current home.”

“The Spring Tour of New Homes™ continues to be one of the premier scattered-site tours in the nation, and this year we’re taking the marketing of the event to the next level by embracing the new technologies that today’s home buyers are using to find a new home,” adds Samson. “We’re one of the first builders associations in the country to create an event mobile app, which can be downloaded free from our new website at http://www.DFWSpringTour.com. Our website makes it easier than ever for prospective home buyers to get directions and see a variety of neighborhoods, homes, prices, amenities and features on the go. Completely integrated with the most popular social media channels, including Pinterest, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Twitter, the website enables visitors to share their experiences, ideas and inspirations and connect with the tour builders.”

Samson continues, “Our goal is to make the entire event experience even more rewarding for the home-buying public and our participating builder members. We’ve blended the traditional with the trending, and are using QR Codes for smartphones on our directional signs and advertising. We launched an interactive phone number – (817) DFW-6564 – that consumers can access to learn more about the tour and featured homes and communities. We also produced an Official Map Guide, and visitors can pick up a complimentary copy of the guide at participating Morrison Supply Showrooms, authorized appliance retailers of Electrolux and Frigidaire. The showrooms are located at 5001 Bryant Irvin Road North in Fort Worth; 2101 Acton Highway in Granbury; and inside Stacy Furniture at 1900 South Main Street in Grapevine. Visit our website for showroom hours and directions.”

Samson adds, “We are partnering with some of the most recognized brands in the industry, and we wish to thank our presenting partners, Electrolux, Frigidaire and York Air Conditioning and Heating. Other companies that are helping us to produce this year’s event include James Hardie Building Products, Stewart Title, ProBuild, Andersen Windows, LP Corporation, Ox Paperboard, Steves and Sons, Inc. and Weyerhaeuser, and our promotion and media partner is the Star-Telegram. Our mobile app partner is Patterson Kia of Arlington.”

The Greater Fort Worth Builders Association is a trade organization that serves a membership of almost 600 builders, remodelers and associate members representing a wide variety of services and products for the building industry. The builders association’s territory encompasses Tarrant County and 6 other counties including Wise, Parker, Palo Pinto, Hood, Johnson and Somervell.
