Last year recording artist Adam Barta scored a Top 20 Billboard club hit with Kathy Sledge (lead singer of Sister Sledge) for their song "Give Yourself Up", which had a music video featuring a myriad of reality stars that landed on TMZ. He’s about to top it in a big way. This May, the new music video for his single "Q&A" combines flashbacks, one of the biggest charity events in NYC, Lisa Lampanelli, Hailey Glassman, and Michael Musto (along with some very other famous faces!)
Building on the music video success of his previous chart topping hits, Barta’s new music video creation (directed by Loren Christiansen), blazes a bold new artistic direction. The concept has him shifting between two realities, something inspired by his own experience of rejection – and triumph. In one reality, he is performing at the NIGHT OF A THOUSAND GOWNS with pal Lisa Lampanelli, cheering him on. In an flashback to a more dim reality, however, Barta is desolate and alone at "Real Housewives of New Jersey"’s Kim Granatell’s luxury condo. Granatell, who had become friends with Barta last year, offered the location, which some might recognize as a former stay of Michael Lohan.
While in this flashback we see Barta receive some rejecting voicemails, most noteably, one from his real life pal Hailey Glassman, which he is set to do his next single with. Glassman rose to fame herself after an affair with Jon Gosselin, and stars in the reality shows "Sweet Home Alabama", and "The Real L Word" on Showtime.
The new music video not only features a beautiful Lampanelli, who has a new Broadway show coming out this Fall, but also Village Voice icon Michael Musto, reality stars Tone Tone (Cake Boss), Miguel Allure (Jerseylicious), Ro Bear (NY Ink), and Ryan Nickolaus (A-List), JC Alvarez, Harry Legg, and others.
The self touted “queen of mean” is uncharacteristically charming and elegant alongside Adam, who she seems to have obvious chemistry with on screen. The two met during a radio interview on Sirius/XM promoting their appearance together at the NIGHT OF A THOUSAND GOWNS, with Emperor Gary Cosgrove, of the Imperial Court of New York. It was also at the actual event itself that the two filmed for the music video, which was their giant fundraiser.
It is one of the most prestigious GLBT organizations in the city, and even by Celebrity Apprentice standards (on which Lampanelli is a breakout star and fan favorite this season) is quite a force – it’s donated over 2.5 million dollars since its inception in 1986. Barta’s no stranger to charity either, filming a volunteer-based reality show pilot last year with both Lohan and Granatell.
So just how will the “queen of mean” Lisa and cohorts fit into to an R&B love song? The only way to find out is to watch! Catch the exclusive world premiere of the Q&A music video this May.
