“If it had not been for Bigfoot CMMS flagging my attention our company not only could have suffered irreparable damage to the chiller unit, but we could have incurred damages on multiple machines fed by the chiller."
Center Harbor, NH (PRWEB) May 23, 2012
Smartware Group, Inc, producer of the web-based Bigfoot Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) solution, today announced the winners of its Bigfoot CMMS Customer Success Stories Competition, including two manufacturers and a correctional facility based in the U.S. and Mexico.
More than 1,500 customers were invited to submit 500-word entries about the tangible benefits Bigfoot CMMS brought to their organizations, including time and money saved, specific goals achieved and how product features were used in innovative ways.
The first grand prize went to TK Holdings, an automobile safety restraint supplier in Michigan that credited Bigfoot with preventing a million dollar loss from a malfunctioning chiller.
“If it had not been for Bigfoot CMMS flagging my attention early on, our company not only could have suffered irreparable damage to the chiller unit, but we could have incurred damages on multiple machines fed by the chiller,” said Ryan M. Treadwell, facilities technician at TK Holdings. “In addition, the hazardous fluids on the grounds of the facility would have halted employee movement between buildings, and would have required major hazmat cleanup.”
Before the Bigfoot CMMS installation was even completed, second grand prize winner Goose Creek Correctional Center in Alaska realized a return on investment and the justification for new hires.
“Bigfoot gives me control, organization, history, reports, confidence, accountability and a sense of a job well done,” said John Yost, maintenance superintendent for Goose Creek Correctional Center. “What’s more, I hope to expand Bigfoot into our 11 other state facilities where I can show just how affordable and easy to use it really is. How’s that for a goal?”
Runner up Therm-O-Disc, Inc., a division of Emerson Electronics, reported that Bigfoot CMMS successfully avoided more than 90 percent of equipment from malfunctioning by using its preventive maintenance schedule and knowing when to replace machine components. Bigfoot CMMS also permanently eliminated Therm-O-Disc’s audit problems.
