Our goal was to create a feature that does all the work, from recipe discovery to planning out meals to adding the ingredients to your shopping list in simplest possible way.
Sterling, VA (PRWEB) May 22, 2012
ZipList, Inc. (http://www.ZipList.com), a leader in online and mobile shopping lists, announced today the launch of the ZipList Meal Planner, which is the simplest way on the web to plan your meals. Consumers can quickly build a basic plan by adding recipes to a basic meal queue – just like Netflix – and not have to worry about detailed scheduling. Users can also plan a week’s or month’s worth of meals ahead of time in a few easy steps, if they choose. Either way, ZipList helps answer the age-old question of “What’s for dinner?” in advance of grocery shopping trips.
Users start by choosing recipes saved in their ZipList recipe box and adding them directly to their meal queues, where they can see their planned recipes at-a-glance. Should they wish, they can then assign specific dates to different meals based on how much prep time they have; a more elaborate recipe can be saved for a Friday night family dinner, while a 15-minute meal might be perfect before Thursday night soccer practice.
When they are ready to go shopping, users can tap into the easy-to-use “add to shopping list” feature to add ingredients for all meals in their meal queue. Weekly meal plans can also be integrated into online calendars such as iCal, Google Calendar and others so everyday meals go along with the rest of the plans for each day.
“There was enormous user demand for ZipList to create some type of meal planning capability,” said Geoff Allen, CEO and founder of ZipList. “Most of our users are busy moms, working professionals, and casual cooks who turn to us each day for recipe inspiration and to aid in the meal planning process. Our goal was to create a feature that does all the work, from recipe discovery to planning out meals to adding the ingredients to your shopping list in the simplest possible way. We hope this saves millions of families time, money and energy in thinking about what to eat.”
In addition, all partners using the ZipList recipe box and shopping list now have access to this new capability, so ZipList users can access it directly from within their favorite food, recipe and lifestyle web destinations.
