NYPD Baseball Team to take on Police and Fire Department Teams For a Good Cause

New York's Finest Baseball Club - a team of former college and pro ballplayers who currently serve as members of the New York City Police Department - have announced the schedule of this year's Anthony Vazquez Memorial Police and Fire Baseball Tournament. Proceeds generated by the tournament will go to the Anthony Vazquez Memorial Scholarship Fund. 

The tournament will feature eight teams representing police and fire departments from New York, Los Angeles and Charlotte.

Wednesday May 30 
Floyd Bennett Field (Brooklyn, NY)

4:00 pm - NYS Court Officers vs NYPD

Fields are at the intersection of Seaview Ave and East 102nd Street in Brooklyn. Exit 13 off Rockaway Parkway
8:30 am at Legion #1 - Nassau County PD vs. NYC Corrections
11:00 am at Legion # 1 – LAPD vs. NYC Corrections

Saturday June 2 - Championship Game

The championship game will be played at Provident Bank Park in Pomona, NY - home of the independent Rockland Boulders - on June 2. Following the game, the Rockland Boulders will take on the Quebec Les Capitales in a regularly scheduled Can-Am League Game. The Boulders will donate a portion of every ticket sold to the Anthony Vasquez Memorial Scholarship fund.

The scholarship fund was established by Rose and Jose Vazquez to honor the memory of their son Anthony. The scholarship is given each year to a student from Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School in Oakdale, NY. Over $20,000 has been raised in 7 years. To donate online, visit

Directions to Floyd Bennett Field
Take the Belt Parkway to Exit 11S, which is Flatbush Avenue South.
Take Flatbush Avenue for 1.3 miles. The entrance to the field is on
the left side at a traffic light. This light is just before the toll
plaza for the Marine Parkway Bridge.
