Denmark boasts of numerous tourist attractions and establishments, with different escapades available to those who are adventurous.

Two of Denmark’s local tourism businesses have garnered the top achievements in the Annual Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Business Awards, held on the 30th of March this year. Many are saying this is reflective of the great potential that the state offers to the public and tourism, in general.

According to analysts in the industry, these latest recognitions of the two local-based companies are testaments as to how tourism in Denmark is getting better each year and how the state will subsequently be marked on the map as one of the premiere destinations in the country.

The Lake House, a local business in Denmark, was the big winner of the night, winning awards for Small Business, Tourism and Industry Development. The award qualified the firm to compete in behalf of the Great Southern for a state-level competition.

On the other hand, Out of Sight Tours and Eco-Discovery Shop won in the Micro Business Category known as the “Wignalls Wines Award for Micro Businesses with fewer than 5 employees”. The company was also recognised as first runner up for the Tourism category, next to The Lake House.

The state also has exquisite cafes, wildflowers, wineries, and numerous other destinations for travellers and adventurers alike. In fact, the state is also popular for whale-watching enthusiasts and those who are looking to find a different kind of experience.

Lenore Lyons, co-owner of the Out of Sight Tours and Eco-Discovery Shop, in explaining how Denmark and her company can go to greater heights, says, “We are growing from strength to strength”. Lyons then added, “(We are) looking forward to another great year of adventure in Denmark’s spectacular Wilderness Edge”.

With the various attractions that Denmark has to offer, coupled with its beautiful weather all year round – reports are now showing that the number of tourists gaining interest over it is on the rise. These latest awards received by its local businesses shows what many experts believe that the state and its businesses have no other way to go but up.
