Tina Baker to offer insights, thoughts through panel focused on risks and solutions associated with electronically stored information (ESI)

Cadence Group®, an information and records management firm based in Atlanta, GA and Washington D.C., is pleased to announce that CEO Tina Baker will be speaking at Argyle’s 2012 Chief Legal Officer Leadership Forum on May 24, 2012 in Washington D.C.

As the economy emerges from recession, the General Counsel’s office continues to grapple with how to reduce and control both risk and cost. Issues around corporate governance, electronically stored information (ESI), government investigations, and alternative fee structures are taking center stage. The Forum will focus on how General Counsels can address these issues while driving business success. The event will be attended by General Counsel representatives from across the nation. Baker will join with thought leaders from industry giants including Scott McCoy, VP, General Counsel Compliance Officer, Siemens Government Technologies; Gregory Gallopoulos, SVP, General Counsel and Secretary, General Dynamics; and Kelly Tompkins, EVP, Legal, Government Affairs and Sustainability & CLO, Cliffs Natural Resources.

In the afternoon session titled “Leadership Speaks”, Baker will offer her insights on topics such as:

  •     Strategies to address the risks of the company regarding new laws and data protection.
  •     Risks of the growing volume of electronic information to a company’s legal liability.
  •     Effect of technology on the General Counsel’s ability to maximize efficiency.
  •     Importance of management and organization of documents when faced with litigation.

“As the world becomes more dependent on data and knowledge as business drivers, the importance of emerging threats has become increasingly critical. With an almost unfettered proliferation of information, devices and new technology fueled by the pressures of competing global marketplace, it is critical for companies to strategically approach external and internal threats, information management and compliance,” offered Baker. “At the Forum, our panel will offer insights into mitigating risks associated with electronically stored information (ESI) through policy, governance, rapid cleanup strategies, and sustainable programs. Participants will come away with strategies they can implement.”
