Fayetteville Resident Announced as Cadet Battalion Commander

St. John's Military School announces the promotion and appointment of Cadet MAJ Levi Davis Gottsponer, Fayetteville, Arkansas to Cadet Battalion Commander. Cadet MAJ Gottsponer is the son of Louis and Cathy Carter Gottsponer, Jr., the grandson of Herbert and Verna Jean Carter, Marion, Arkansas and Louis and Francie Gottsponer, Sr., Fayetteville, Arkansas. He has attended St. John's Military School for two years and will be a senior.
As Cadet Battalion Commander Gottsponer will be responsible for performance, morale and behavior of the entire Corps of Cadets; coordinate programs and activities with the Senior Army Instructor, Operations Officer, and Battalion and Company Leadership Advisor teams; direct cadet staff and cadet company commanders in accomplishing tasks and ensure the safety and welfare of all cadets; recommend appropriate disciplinary action for cadet misconduct; act a president of the cadet court and a member of the cadet promotion and awards board.
During his attendance at St. John's Military School, Cadet Gottsponer has participated in basketball and golf. He is a two-year golf letterman and earned the JROTC air rifle sharp shooter marksmanship badge. Cadet Gottsponer completed the drill instructor course, squad leader course, and leadership development course. He has participated in numerous community service activities.
St. John's Military School is a private college preparatory school for young men in the sixth grade to 12th grade. The student to teacher ratio is ten to one and the school is accredited by the Kansas State Department of Education and the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and is affiliated with the Episcopal Church.
