The Visual Communications and Industry Group, VCI-Group, will host a learning session led by VCI-Group Advisory Council Chair, industry analyst, J D Vaughn, entitled Videoconferencing Software, Cloud and or Hardware Services? Evaluating The Options, Benefits and Mix. Panelists for the session include executives from Radvision and Vidtel. Bob Romano, Vice President, Global Marketing for Radvision, and Scott Wharton, CEO and Founder of Vidtel will lead the panel discussion.

The session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th, 2012, and will run for one hour, beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

“The session is designed to help our user members evaluate the options and benefits of software based products, cloud services AND hardware based services," said J D Vaughn, Principal and Founder of J D Vaughn Consulting. “On one side of the panel we have a hardware UC advocate, and on the other side, the CEO of a videoconferencing cloud services company. I will be representing the power of the client server model now available to us because of software codecs. And we have seeded a large part of the user community with questions that confront every videoconferencing and IT manager trying to find the right balance and mix of cloud and hardware based videoconferencing products and services. This should prove to be a very interesting, informative and provocative Brown Bag learning session.”

This session will focus on the importance of a user strategy that leverages all the available software, cloud and hardware based tools to our users’ advantage. It will also explore the power of Unified Communications and how an effective UC strategy can be served by software, cloud and hardware based products and services.
