Superbreak, the weekend breaks provider, has reported an increase in traffic to its site from jubilee related search terms, reporting its fourth consecutive week of growth as visits last week increased by 50%. In celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee the late May Bank holiday has been moved to coincide with the long Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, and the Yorkshire based tour operator has seen an up lift in bookings between Saturday 2nd June and Tuesday 5th June 2012.
Working closely with key partners and hotel groups, Superbreak has increased its already extensive product range to offer customers a host of London and provincial short breaks over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. With visitor numbers into London expected to be high over the Jubilee weekend the operator has secured excellent room allocation in the Capital as well as additional allocation for popular theatre shows and London attractions. Sales for the weekend already look encouraging with Superbreak customers opting for the popular two night return rail breaks to London, as well as popular London theatre breaks such as Phantom of the Opera, War Horse and Shrek the Musical.
In addition to this, Superbreak has also introduced a number of Royal and Jubilee packaged breaks to its 2012 events portfolio for customers wishing to avoid the capital over the bank holiday week, but still want to join in the Jubilee celebrations. Already proving popular with Superbreak customers is the “A Diamond Royal Day” at Buckingham Palace which offers customers the chance to see the insides of the State Rooms, the Royal Mews and the newly commissioned exhibition: Diamonds – A Jubilee Celebration. Other highlights include the Buckingham Palace & Garden Tour, Private Tours of Hampton Court and the Behind the Ropes Private Tour of the Queen’s official Scottish residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, all of which combine a ticket and a central hotel stay.
As well as Royal breaks throughout the year the York based operator has secured an excellent range of provincial and overseas breaks, including Eurostar Breaks to Paris, P&O mini cruises to Amsterdam and Bruges, as well as hotel and flight packages to Spanish Costas, for those wishing to really take advantage of the four day weekend and explore the best of the European cities and sunshine resorts on offer.
Khalid Amin, Online Marketing Manager at Superbreak, commented, ‘Late bookings for both Easter and the first May Bank Holiday indicate the public have a real appetite to make the most of their extra holidays this year. The Diamond Jubilee is a big date in our calendars. With four days off work and school and celebrations happening across the country there’s even more of a reason to take a short break.’
