The Right Light® is helping to keep Team Hope safe in their Race Across America. RAAM is an epic event covering 3,000 miles and climbing over 100,000 feet beginning on June 16, 2012.

Race Across America is a test of physical, mental, and emotional strength. Racing on behalf of an amazing cause is what keeps us pushing towards the finish line. We are grateful for JAZD-CAP, LLC for their support in our journey!- Sara Harper

JAZD-CAP, LLC, makers of The Right Light® will be donating their lighted visors to each crew member of Team Hope. This will help keep them safe throughout the night as it provides hands-free lighting. "Our mission is to keep this group of passionate cyclists safe on their journey across America', says Andrea Pierce, S.E.V.P of JAZD-CAP, LLC. Though The Right Light® was originally created for the healthcare industry, specifically nurses working the night shift, it was quickly recognized that the lighted visor had hundreds of other uses. The Right Light® is extremely attractive, light weight and provides directional lighting. Perfect for trail runners and hikers who find themselves out on the trails just a little later than expected. This very thing happened to Paty Popovich an avid trail runner who uses The Right Light® when she runs. “My plan was to be out of the woods by 8:15pm, but I was having a good run and ran a little longer than I should have. I did not give myself enough time to get out of there and I was extremely grateful for The Right Light®. I flipped on the light and my path was lit up in front of me,” Paty recalls.

Andrea Pierce is an avid rider and hiker herself and met Sara Harper, member of Team Hope during a race where she explained their cause and why they participated in 2011. Their passion for addressing the world’s water crisis was infectious, and the team and crew immediately decided to race again, beat their respectable time, and complete their fundraising goal. Team Hope returns to RAAM in June 2012 guided by RAAM veteran, Trish Harriger, as crew chief, Team Hope includes RAAM veterans Andre Husain, Alex Galindo and Sara Harper, along with Blue Planet Network’s founder & chairman, Jin Zidell.

Reflected in its name, Team Hope’s mission is to build awareness of the fact that one billion people on the planet have no access to safe drinking water and to raise funds for projects providing cost-effective, sustainable solutions.

Working with its partner, Blue Planet Network, the team hopes to raise enough funds to create access to safe drinking water for several communities around the globe, empowering each with health, education and prosperity. Team Hope has specifically targeted the St. Charles School in Uganda as its first recipient for water project funding. This project, including the participation of Team Hope, will be the subject of a documentary film by Cleveland non-profit Drink Local | Drink Tap.

This is the team’s second competing in this cross continental journey, an epic event covering 3,000 miles and climbing over 100,000 feet beginning on June 16, 2012. The team will ride 350-500 miles per day, racing from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis Maryland, 24 hours a day, until it reaches the finish line. JAZD-CAP, LLC is proud to be sponsoring this wonderful group of people. You too, can show your support for Team Hope by following them on Facebook and getting your Team Hope Right Light Visor today.
