Social media has become an integral part of society and a main sharing tool for many. With the objective of growing their community and getting their viewers involved, Henry’s has launched their first social media video contest, the 30 Second Showdown.

The 30 Second Showdown, as sponsored by Nikon Canada and Henry’s allows Henry’s Facebook fans to get involved by submitting a creative 30 second video clip explaining why they should win a Nikon Dream Kit, valued at over $5000.

Henry’s acknowledges that interacting with potential clients and building relationships is a core part of growing their social media channels and building their business, and thus has allowed their followers to be a part of the video voting process of the 30 Second Showdown. Henry’s has also incentivized their voters by automatically entering them for a chance to win a Henry’s $500 gift card.

The submission period of the 30 Second Showdown will run from Wednesday, May 23, 2012 until Wednesday, July 4th, 2012, strategically planned around their Exposure Show, and the voting period will run from Wednesday, July 11, 2012 until Wednesday, July 25th, 2012. The 30 Second Showdown is open to all residents of Canada except residents of Quebec, over the age of majority in their province of residence.

Henry’s is eager to use social media in conjunction with multimedia and print advertisement to leverage their social media communities and break down the business-to-consumer barrier by building online relationships through the 30 Second Showdown.
