Notes to Editors

The American Youth Table Tennis Organization, a 501(c) (3) organization, was founded in May 2001 by a group of table tennis enthusiasts, with the purpose of introducing the Olympic sport of table tennis to disadvantaged youth.

What started out as one small successful program at the Hoe Avenue Boy’s and Girl's Club has expanded to a New York city-wide initiative in which AYTTO has coordinated over 20 after-school and in- school programs for York York City public schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Public School Athletic Leagues.

Over the past two years, AYTTO has provided quality instruction to over 1,500 children in various low income areas of New York City including the Lower East Side, South Bronx, East New York, Red Hook, Harlem, Greenpoint, and Bushwick.

In 2010 we introduced a middle school league to 16 New York City public middle schools. By 2012 this league has expanded to over 30 schools. We also run successful programs in Boston, Massachusetts.
