Last Friday saw Cassville Golf Club play host to the 5th Annual Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. Scott Tucker, Chuck Edie, John Chappell and Casey Crass appeared like they could do nothing wrong as they ran out winners in the top ranked A-flight section. The Re/Max sponsored foursome made the most of the fine spring weather as they left all their rivals trailing behind in the 4-man scramble.
The 4-man scramble format is based around a system where all four team members hit their own individual ball from the tee. After some deliberation and strategic planning the team then decides which ball is best positioned for the next shot. Once the negotiations are concluded, each team member then plays their ball from the spot they deemed to be the best. This format continues until the team has the ball in the hole.
The scramble format has grown in popularity in recent years as it enables golfers of different skill levels to be competitive in a team format. Alongside adding some extra competitiveness the scramble format can also produce some pretty impressive scores, and according to the inspirational sports stories blog this is exactly what Scott Tucker and his team-mates managed to do.
Cassville Golf Club is located in the beautiful Ozark region of southern Missouri and is consistently ranked as one of the best public golf courses in Missouri.
