Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) May 24, 2012
Foundation Radiology Group is pleased to announce it has received re-accreditation from the Joint Commission by demonstrating compliance with the organization’s rigorous performance standards for healthcare quality and safety. Foundation Radiology Group was the first multi-institutional hospital based radiology group to receive this accreditation back in 2009 and becomes the first to be re-accredited. To achieve the recent re-accreditation Foundation passed a follow-up audit measuring their performance against national quality and safety requirements.
An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards. Organizations that obtain this status are permitted to display The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.
“We are very proud to be included in the Joint Commission’s roster of accredited radiology providers,” said Tom Skelton, CEO of Foundation Radiology Group. “It is a very exclusive group and gives the community hospitals the utmost confidence that they will receive care of the highest quality.” Skelton added, “Being able to offer community hospitals the ability to receive diagnostic imaging services from a Joint Commission accredited facility reaffirms our mission to revolutionize the practice of radiology in the community healthcare setting.”
