Revenue & Traffic Doubles for Asia’s Leading Property Portal Group

PropertyGuru, Asia's leading property portal group, announced an outstanding start to 2012 with revenue and Internet users growing more than 100% over the same period of 2011 – and as a result extending its market leadership position in its core markets of Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Revenue grew by 2.4 times compared to the same period of 2011. This was primarily due to a 50% increase in paying agent subscribers to reach over 19,100 agents, a rise in large contracts from real estate developers and non-property advertisers across the region as well as success of its newly created regional events business since April 2011.

PropertyGuru saw a 128% rise in Internet users over the previous 12 months, of which over 26% was recorded in Q1 alone, to reach 8.2 million visitors viewing 65 million property pages in April 2012 compared to 3.6 million visitors for the same month last year.

In Singapore, and accounted for 85% of all total page views from property seekers using property portal websites in Singapore according to Google AdPlanner, and over double the number of user views as compared to all other competitor’s property portal traffic, securing its overall leadership position. Likewise, the Company also fared well with significant traffic growth in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand aligned with the aim of expanding its property portal share to maintain regional dominance.

PropertyGuru has also invested heavily in mobile innovation over the last 12 months – responding to the growing trend of consumers using smartphone and tablet devices to access the internet. The Company grew from 2 mobile apps in 1 country to 12 mobile apps in 4 countries. New services recently launched include a Blackberry Agent app and Blackberry Consumer app, the first and only property-related applications for the Blackberry in Indonesia as well as Android Agent application in Malaysia. In addition, PropertyGuru Singapore’s iPhone application saw four million monthly page views and over 25,000 enquiries for agents - every month. 26% of all PropertyGuru users in Singapore now originate from a mobile device, versus an average of 15% to 16% for Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

New Key Hires
In an effort to further strengthen and steer future regional success, PropertyGuru Group appointed industry veterans to take the helm in two key positions: Chris Antonius, new Country Manager for Indonesia and Joel Lim as Regional Head of Events.
Chris Antonius joined the PropertyGuru Group in April from Jobstreet, where he was Country Manager. He brings a strong online, business development, sales and marketing experience gained in digital media, financial services and property industries.
Responsible for the creation as well as support of profitable and attractive events as part of an integrated solution for PropertyGuru’s clients, Joel Lim‘s dedication towards sales and marketing management together with his more than 13 years experience in the MICE industry will play a critical role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory in the coming months.
