Hundreds of postcard collectors and enthusiasts are expected over a two-day period when the Annual Postcard & Paper Americana Show and Sale arrives in Columbia, Mo., Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23.
"This is the eighth year for this fun show and sale,” said Jim Taylor, show organizer and owner of Courthouse Square Antique Postcards. “Columbia is an easy drive into mid-Missouri with the beautiful University of Missouri campus and many historic sites and fun nearby.”
Vendors bring hundreds of boxes of antique postcards, including thousands of historical views of all states, Railroadiana, Route 66, Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, Civil War, Native Americans, Old West, Outlaws, Black Americana, Halloween, Santas, lighthouses, 1000's of other topics, Europe, and other historical paper memorabilia.
“Our collectors and dealers look forward to seeing the fresh material brought in from across the central U.S. for this show,” said Taylor.
Dealers are buying as well as selling, plus, several dealers are providing free appraisals, time permitting.
“Early bird” admission cost, available at 9 a.m., Friday is $5 and covers both days. Regular admission is $3 per person, and is available at 10 a.m.; it too covers both days.
Show times are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, June 22 and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, June 23. The show is scheduled at the Quality Inn, 1612 N. Providence Road, (Exit 126, I-70), Columbia, Mo.
