Haute Living is pleased to announce the winners of the First Round of Hotel Madness. Voting for the next round will open at Thursday, May 24 and will continue for five days. The eight hotels that will advance to the second round in each market are:
New York: The Plaza, Mandarin Oriental, The Waldorf- Astoria, The Peninsula, The Four Seasons New York, Hotel Plaza Athénée, The St. Regis New York and The Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park
Los Angeles: Montage Beverly Hills, The Peninsula Beverly Hills, The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles, Montage Laguna Beach, Hotel Bel-Air, Terranea Resort, The Four Seasons Los Angeles and The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Beach.
Miami: The Ritz-Carlton South Beach, W South Beach, JW Marriott Marquis Miami, Acqualina, Mandarin Oriental, The Setai, Mondrian South Beach, The St. Regis Bal Harbour
San Francisco: The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, Mandarin Oriental, Meadowood Napa, Auberge du Soleil, Pebble Beach Resort, Bernadaus Lodge, The St. Regis San Francisco
The five-week March madness-inspired tournament began May 17 with a list of the 32 best hotels in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco chosen by Haute Living curators. The hotels have been competing against one another—with 8 pairs of hotels, 16 hotels, going head to head last week for readers to vote for their preference within each faceoff. The 8 hotels with the most votes within each pair will now advance to the next round.

Ultimately, after the five-week period, voters comprised of Haute Living’s readers and hotel patrons who want to support their favorite spots, will determine who will be named the champion of Haute Living Hotel Madness by way of a traditional tournament bracket.
