More than 1,500 healthcare professionals convened in Las Vegas, Nev., May 15-18 for the 2012 Amerinet Member Conference. The celebrated annual event, held this year at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino, provided participants the opportunity to collaborate, network and learn with leaders, colleagues and educators representing every facet of today’s dynamic healthcare industry.

“Our annual meeting provides an outstanding forum – a powerful opportunity for our members, affiliates, alliances and suppliers to communicate face-to-face with leaders and experts from within the Amerinet organization and the healthcare industry at-large,” said Todd Ebert, Amerinet president and CEO. “The Member Conference also serves as an occasion to publically recognize the exceptional performance, creative problem-solving and community involvement of our membership and supplier partners in a dedicated awards ceremony.”

The Amerinet Healthcare Achievement Awards, Amerinet Supplier Performance Awards and Amerinet Choice Achievement Awards were presented at a special dinner for honorees. A formal banner session highlighting the accomplishments of member award nominees was also held, giving all attendees an opportunity to learn more about the best practice solutions of our members.

Conference keynote speaker, former NASA Commander Mark Kelly, husband of U.S. congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, provided an inspiring address entitled, “Achieve Your Mission.” Sharing his experiences as a pilot and astronaut, as well as a father and caregiver, the prominent American hero urged the audience to follow their true calling in life and persevere in spite of challenges.

Other highlights included an extensive array of professional educational opportunities, as well as thought-provoking plenary sessions with celebrities such as authors Chef Jeff Henderson and David Nour, CEO of the Nour Group Inc., and a unique discussion on finding “Common Ground” in a partisan America featuring Bob Beckel and Cal Thomas of USA Today. Social responsibility, always a major focus at the conference, was demonstrated with the “Amerinet Peanut Butter and Jelly Challenge” benefiting local food banks.

A comprehensive tradeshow was held featuring more than 800 suppliers and almost 350 different and informative booths. Unique in this regard, is the annual “Reverse Trade Show” – an innovative session permitting suppliers the opportunity to learn more about Amerinet as an organization, with representatives available from must-know segments of the company, from contracting and affiliates, to regional alliance groups.

“Amerinet would like to thank our sponsors and all those attending for another successful event,” said Ebert. “We look forward to next year’s meeting: May 20-22, 2013, in Orlando, Fla., at the Walt Disney World® Swan and Dolphin Resort.”
