Rockville, MD (PRWEB) May 31, 2012
Providing entry into the emerging field of patient advocacy, the next Professional Patient Advocate Certificate Workshop is scheduled to take place on September 13, 2012, in Washington, D.C. The all-day training program, which serves as the cornerstone of the Professional Patient Advocate Institute’s (PPAI) Certificate Program, takes place in advance of the 2012 Care Coordination Summit, a leading conference for members of the care coordination team, which includes patient advocates.
The Professional Patient Advocate Certificate Training Program is a comprehensive education program aimed at enhancing training for those already in this specialized field or those interested in entering the emerging practice of patient advocacy. Focusing on the concepts of patient advocacy to improve patient education and satisfaction, the program will help independent advocates, healthcare organizations and payers meet the needs of their clients with efficient, effective care.
“Patient advocacy is fast emerging as an integral part of today’s healthcare environment, and trained patient advocates are working effectively in independent as well as payer- and provider-based settings to help consumers navigate our immensely complicated healthcare system,” said Anne Llewellyn, RN-BC, MS, BHSA, CCM, CRRN, the trainer of the Certificate Training Program.
The Certificate Program is an advanced course that is open to all professionals with a baseline level of healthcare experience. Additionally, the Certificate Program serves as a point of entry for professionals who want to transition into this new role, providing a course of study that builds on an existing body of knowledge.
The PPAI Certificate Training Workshop will take place one day before the 2012 Care Coordination Summit, an interactive learning event designed for members of the care coordination team as they strive to optimize their business practices, quality-of-care initiatives, and cost-effectiveness.
The PPAI Certificate Workshop will take place Thursday, September 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The Care Coordination Summit will take place Friday, September 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the same venue.
