A 21st Century street party is taking place on Radiowaves - the international safe social learning platform and BETT ICT company of the year. Young people are sharing their Diamond Jubilee posters online and sending messages of congratulations to The Queen to celebrate her 60th year as British monarch.
See more childrens blogs and stories on the Jubilee Party Network - https://www.radiowaves.co.uk/jubileeparty.
Pupils can also capture photos, videos and audio from their Jubilee celebrations and upload them directly to Radiowaves using the free MakeWaves social app, available now for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The mobile app can be downloaded for free from the Apple app store or http://www.radiowaves.co.uk/makewavesapp.
Radiowaves members have left over 80 messages for The Queen so far, including this one from a pupil: “Hello Your Majesty have a great Diamond Jubilee! We are having a family party with flags and Union Jack plates and cups and of course hats and streamers!”
Young people are also encouraged to put their literacy skills to the test with The Big Diamond Jubilee Read - a reading and writing competition from the National Literacy Trust and Oxford University Press. Entrants will be rewarded for the amount that they read or write, and entries can be shared on Radiowaves.
The internet is just one of many ways that people will be celebrating the Diamond Jubilee this summer, and Radiowaves is the perfect place for young people share their celebrations online. Teachers around the world can set up their free Radiowaves station now at http://www.radiowaves.co.uk/join.
