I Promise You, I won't tell you one thing to get elected and do something else after being elected. My door is always open and my phone is always on.

John Hikel, a current member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, is announcing his candidacy for the State Senate, District 20. This district includes Wards 3, 4, 10, 11, and Goffstown. As a long time resident of New Hampshire, John Hikel is entering the race to promote the kind of conservative fiscal policies he feels will best benefit the state. Hikel feels that, "the time is right to put a new candidate in that seat with experience and fresh new ideas."

2012 is shaping up to be a landmark year in both local and national politics, and Representative Hikel feels that he is up for the challenge. He has extensive experience as a small business owner in New Hampshire, having owned and operated an automotive repair shop for more than 25 years. This experience has shown him first hand the difficulties small business owners face in today's economy and has given him real world ideas on how to tackle the problems these businesses face every day.

Since 2008, Hikel has been a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, serving Hillsborough District 7. During his time as a state legislator, Hikel has made his mark as Vice Char of Transportation. A full listing of his roll call votes is available on his website.

A fiscal conservative, Hikel is running on a simple platform: more jobs and a stronger state economy. As he says, "My major concerns are jobs, a strong New Hampshire economy, less business regulations...and even more jobs, to name a few." He feels that his decades of real world experience combined with his four years of legislative work make him an ideal candidate for the state Senate.

Representative Hikel is asking supporters to donate time and energy to his campaign. In return, he vows to be the senator he pledged to be during his campaign. His promise to voters is that he "won't tell you one thing to get elected and do something else after being elected. My door is always open and my phone is always on."
