Research Triangle Park, NC (PRWEB) May 24, 2012
Planting seeds of beneficial change in the local community and growing a positive company culture are just a few of the specialties of Meredith Lawhon and Bekah Mahan, Bayer CropScience employees who were honored with 2012 “40 Under 40” leadership awards from the Triangle Business Journal recently. Lawhon, head of talent development, and Mahan, external communications manager for Bayer CropScience North America, were recognized as young professionals under the age of 40 who attained significant leadership roles at their organizations, achieved career milestones in 2011 or had substantial involvement in community service. Both women demonstrated a commitment to creating a better tomorrow for those around them by making an impact on the business and their local community in the past year.
In 2011, Lawhon continued her work on Bayer CropScience’s highly successful Leadership Academy for current and aspiring leaders at the company, while Mahan worked to develop educational summer camp curriculum to help Southeast Raleigh children understand agriculture, as well as the impact and origin of healthy food. These activities, in addition to many others enriched by the participation of these two leaders, highlight the culture of service encouraged at Bayer CropScience.
Lawhon and Mahan, along with 38 other “40 Under 40” honorees, were recognized during a luncheon on Thursday, May 17 at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, N.C.
