Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) May 29, 2012
Citing its commitment to offering healthier menu options to its youngest guests, Extreme Pita announced that on May 19 through June 2 it will conduct fundraising efforts in support of Action for Healthy Kids at 25 of its restaurants throughout the United States. In addition, on June 2, the last day of the fundraiser, Extreme Pita will be celebrating National Pita Day with half priced pitas all day.
Action for Healthy Kids® (AFHK) fights childhood obesity, undernourishment and physical inactivity by helping schools become healthier places so kids can live healthier lives. The organization partners with a legion of dedicated volunteers - teachers, students, moms, dads, school wellness experts and more - to create healthful school changes. After all, everyone has a part to play in ending the nation’s childhood obesity epidemic. AFHK’s programs, tools and resources make it possible so that many people can. More information is available at http://www.ActionforHealthyKids.org.
Each Extreme Pita location involved in the effort will encourage guests to purchase an I Took Action for Healthy Kids card for $1. All proceeds will be donated to the Action for Healthy Kids organization following the 2 week in-store campaign.
