Perth, Western Australia (PRWEB) May 30, 2012
Western Australia’s synthetic grass specialists, Green Planet Grass, were delighted to hand over their single biggest sports installation to date, having completed eight tennis courts for the Forrest Oval Sports Precinct.
Forrest Oval, in York, is a major sporting redevelopment for the Wheatbelt town, 100km east of Perth. Its tennis courts designed and installed by Green Planet Grass covers an area of 4,200m2. The tennis courts are the first part of a two-stage process to upgrade sports facilities in York, with the addition of two bowling greens well underway.
Having designed and installed various synthetic grass and acrylic hard court sports installations across Western Australia, Green Planet Grass is fast becoming the leader in next generation sports complex constructions in the state.
All tennis courts installed by Green Planet Grass meet rigorous Australian standards and are highly durable. The eight-court complex in York utilised the WA company’s sand-filled Grand Prix product.
Managing Director of Green Planet Grass, Jeff Dennis, said: “We have a large number of specially designed and tested artificial tennis lawns to suit every level of tennis but the complex in York is certainly our biggest to date and will allow many residents in the Shire to enjoy their tennis on a top quality surface for many years to come.
“Our tennis courts are all designed and manufactured to handle the harsh Australian climate and our expertise in commercial and sporting synthetic grass services mean we are able to project manage large scale installations from start to finish including design, preparation and construction.
“Green Planet Grass tennis courts are made to order with integrated line marking to suit all sizes and applications.
“We were delighted to hand over the first stage of this project to the Shire of York and they will now be able to make significant cost savings on the likes of mowing, watering, weeding, fertilising and rolling when compared to natural grass courts. The eight tennis courts in York can also be played on during all weather conditions, 365 days a year.”
Sand filled synthetic grass systems imitate the performance of a real lawn tennis court, providing outstanding ball rebound performance and minimise the risk of elbow injuries caused by sliding.
Green Planet Grass’ professional accredited installers provide a turnkey solution including site survey, design, base construction, fence, lighting and court furniture supply. Their services also include construction and grass installation with industry approved tapes, adhesives and infill.
