Small Business Insight provides relevant information about SBA trends to business owners and potential business owners.

We feel it’s important for business owners to share their experiences so others can learn from them.

Small businesses are the driver of the economy. In these turbulent economic times, business owners and entrepreneurs are looking for information to help them understand the funding options available to them.

Small Business Insight provides relevant information about SBA trends to business owners and potential business owners. We add the expertise of our lenders, who specialize in SBA lending. “Having a dedicated 504 lender is also helpful,” noted Morgan Johns, senior vice president of the SBA group. “He’s a great resource for people who are unsure of all the options available to them.”

In each issue of Small Business Insight, Conestoga Bank will feature a business leader. The premiere issue of Small Business Insight highlights Chris Phillips from Elevation Burger. Chris shares his journey as an entrepreneur and business owner while providing advice and encouragement to others. “We feel it’s important for business owners to share their experiences so others can learn from them. Small Business Insight provides that opportunity,” said Johns.

Chris Phillips is a fitting example, as the main story of Small Business Insight talks about what Conestoga Bank’s SBA Division is looking for in a qualified borrower. While meeting the qualifying criteria for the 7a and 504 programs is essential, looking beyond the numbers is also critical. “That’s why we meet with each borrower to get to know him or her better and understand the borrower’s motivation and expectations,” noted Johns.

Small Business Insight is published quarterly and can be found at http://sba.conestogabank.com/. “We encourage feedback about the newsletter and look forward to providing information that is of interest to our readers,” noted Johns. Conestoga Bank’s plans include expanding the newsletter to include articles from experts in different aspects of lending. “We want to be a resource for all 7a and 504 lending questions and lending needs,” added Johns.

Conestoga Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Conestoga Bancorp headquartered in Chester Springs, Pa. Conestoga Bank is a full-service financial institution, with 14 branches in Center City and South Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, specializing in commercial loans, Small Business Administration, and leasing, along with convenient personal checking and savings products.
