My goal is to motivate these guys to stay focused, make the right choices and reach their goals.

Matt Forte, standout running back for the Chicago Bears, treated a group of high school football players to dinner at Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse. Members of Marshall High School’s football team celebrated their accomplishments on and off the field at the inaugural Matt Forte’s 4th & GOAL Fine Dining Experience.
The students’ evening included VIP, roundtrip transportation provided by Uber Chicago from their school to the world renowned steakhouse. While attendees enjoyed a four course meal, Matt spoke with each one individually about what they’d overcome to reach their present point in life. He also had everyone state a short term and long term goal, and Matt suggested ways they could reach those goals.
Matt encouraged the players to focus on their education and bring the same effort they apply on the field to their academic studies. He emphasized hard work and determination as being the keys to all their future successes.
“Part of the reason that I have been successful is because of the mentors and coaches who have encouraged me throughout my life,” said Forte. “It’s only right that I do the same for young men in the Chicago community, and that is why I launched this fine dining experience. My goal is to motivate these guys to stay focused, make the right choices and reach their goals.”
Forte is busy this offseason with community efforts in Chicago and his home state, Louisiana. In addition to partnering with Pop Chips to reward a local Chicago charity, he will host a football camp at his alma mater, Tulane University and in his hometown of Slidell, LA.
