The Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiology understands that comprehensive and quality cardiovascular care involves prevention and management of cardiometabolic disease, and recognizes the benefit of the Cardiometabolic Risk Summit.

Three additional nationally recognized organizations have pledged support for the Primary Care Cardiometabolic Risk Summit, presented by Consultant (http://www.consultant360.com). The California Primary Care Association (CPCA), the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiology (APAC), and the Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging and Prevention (SAIP) will work to promote this premier educational conference — scheduled for September 7–9 at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada — to their members and throughout the communities they serve.

Accredited by North American Center for Continuing Medical Education, LLC, and managed by HMP Communications, the Cardiometabolic Risk Summit is the only national, multi-day conference specifically designed to help healthcare providers in the primary care setting reduce cardiometabolic risk. The Cardiometabolic Risk Summit provides a unique forum in which the primary care healthcare team can learn about the latest clinical strategies for and up-to-date research on preventing and managing diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, obesity, and related conditions. In addition to CPCA, APAC, and SAIP, the list of supporting associations/societies includes the American College of Preventative Medicine, Latino Diabetes Association, National Kidney Foundation, Nevada Diabetes Association, and Obesity Society.

All partnering organizations have stressed the importance of continual education to combat the deleterious effects of cardiometabolic conditions. For example, Sondra DePalma, director-at-large for APAC, strongly supports the educational efforts of the Cardiometabolic Risk Summit, saying, “The Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiology understands that comprehensive and quality cardiovascular care involves prevention and management of cardiometabolic disease, and recognizes the benefit of the Cardiometabolic Risk Summit.”

Primary care physicians, internists, general practitioners, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified diabetes educators, and other related healthcare professionals have been registering to attend the inaugural Cardiometabolic Risk Summit for many reasons:

  • Peer-to-peer education — Attendees will learn from nationally recognized primary care faculty and colleagues.
  • Customizable agenda — Attendees can decide the focus of their education during the 3-day conference by selecting the courses that best fit needs and interests.
  • Practical lessons — Attendees will be able to implement key teachings into their practices to better assist patients.
  • Unique networking opportunities — Attendees can engage in dynamic conversations with colleagues and industry representatives from across the country.
  • Optimum value — Attendees will earn up to 14.5 CE credits for a nominal price.
